The acronym for IES is Indian Engineering Services. The selection procedure of IES examination is mentioned as below:- * Preliminary examination. * Mains examination. * Personal interview. The eligibility criteria required for IES examination are prescribed as below:- * Completion of graduation in civil engineering/mechanical engineering/electrical engineering/electronics and communication engineering from any recognised college or university. * Age limit- 21-30 yrs. * Age relaxation- 3 yrs for OBC and 5 yrs for SC/ST contendors. * Final year students of graduation are also eligible for IES examination. IES is conducted by UPSC every year. for this exam minimum eligibility is b.tech in any of the stream listed below 1)Civil Engineering. 2)Mechanical Engineering. 3)Electrical Engineering. 4) Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. UPSC conducts IES Examination in following branch of engineering Category I—Civil Engineering. Category II—Mechanical Engineering. Category III—Electrical Engineering.
