Re: Tips on how to prepare for CAT?
Hello friend;
Greeting for the day; PEOPLE Generally spend most of the time planning instead of executing their plans. You have to manage your schedules in such a way that you can make the most of it. so don't plan too much and try to execute plan as soon as possible.Try and follow few steps which is given below :- First of all You should put in equal effort in Quantitative aptitude, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension and Data Interpretation. You should not try to take short-cuts as there is no substitute to the fundas. Slot some hours every week for revision. When you revise you should plan revision of all the topics you have completed till the day. CAT is not about solving a problem. It is about choosing the best alternative among the choices given. Regular test-taking with time limits help tremendously in improving test-taking skills and rectify your mistakes afterwards , then and only then you should move ahead to take another test.During examination manage you time properly to solve each and every portion. Regards :- khanddn |

Re: Tips on how to prepare for CAT?
hello
It is completely your choice that how you want to prepare for CAT. You may go in for coaching as there are many leading institutes like Bullseye,Career launcher,IMS,Times etc offering coaching for CAT and various other MBA entrance exams like SNAP and many more. Attending classes is really beneficial as they keep you regular with the study material. And moreover they provide sufficient study material. Apart from classes there are practice books available in the market covering three main subjects(verbal,quant and DI(data interpretation)) of CAT like 1)quantitative aptitude by ARUN SHARMA 2)data interpretation by ARUN SHARMA 3)verbal analysis by ARUN SHARMA also there are books by R S AGGARWAL Verbal is a tricky part to tackle with in the exam so in order to have an upper edge in the same one must devote a large time in reading newspapers and magazine. reading helps in doing well in RCs(reading comprehensions) that form a major part of the verbal section. Practice minimum 2 and maximum 3RCs daily. To do well in QUANT section revise the formulas thoroughly and practice a lot. For DI section there is no hard and fast rule to excel. Practice is the only mantra to success. MAKE IT A HABBIT TO PRACTICE THE THREE SUBJECTS DAILY. GOOD LUCK |

Re: Tips on how to prepare for CAT?
one thing i can suggest that first identify your strong areas and weak areas. work hard on weaker areas. there are three methods to solve any problem 1.apply formulae 2.shortcut 3. thinking logically and in cat we need to follow third method. when talking about vocabulary u need to first learn the root words so that you can approach to the exact meaning. by regularly using different new words in our conversation vocabulary can be build up. to calculate the neumerals very fast learn vedic maths

Re: Tips on how to prepare for CAT?
Cat xam is reallly the toughest out of all.
But no need to worry.You just need to be dedicated towards preparation. The thing you need to do is you need to know all english words. And practice them in different ways. And als reading the passage very quickly is most important but as time wont be sufficient theres no need to read the whole passage .You just need to skim over the passage . Means you need to read 2 lines starting and ending of each passage and go to passage according to the question. And even you need to work hard for quant. You need lots of practice for quant Need to do it fast and correct.. I advise you to keep watch before and try to complete a set of questions in time. It really helps you. The following link helps you for cat.. http://www.admissioncorner.com/conte...epare-cat-2011 All The Best. |
