A candidate who wish to to join IPS have to first of all have to complete their Graduation Degree from recognized Universities.....

During their last year of Graduation degree also applicable.....

In the early part of 2014, Union Public Service Commission will issue notification for the Civil Services Examination. This exam is conducted for Indian Police Service. You will have to clear it to become IPS officer.

The age limit is 30 years for the Indian Police Service. But for OBC candidates there is 3 years relaxation. Which means age limit is 33 years for you. It makes you eligible for the Indian Police Service.

So while you are waiting for the notification to register for the exam, it is also a good time to start the preparations for the Indian Police Service entrance exam. You should get yourself NCERT books for 12th standard and study them.

Apart from that you should read newspaper and watch a lot of news to keep yourself updated. Reading political magazines will also help. There are previous years papers available online to be download. You should download them as well.

You should also work on your English since there will be a written test on it. Take English coaching or ask for the friends to help you out. You should also decide the 2 optional subjects for the exam in advance so that you may have sufficient time to prepare.

2. He/She should at least have graduation degree.

3. There is no marks criteria.

4. Age of candidate should be 21 to 30 years.

CSAT Exam is going to be conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) once in a year.

Here is the eligibility criteria required for the candidates to apply for Civil Services Exam.

One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.

Candidates who have appeared for final year exams of Graduation and waiting for the results can also apply for this Exam.

The required age criteria will be as follows

Candidates of General category should be in the age group of 21-30 years.

Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category.

Relaxation in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC or ST category.

As per your profile, you are going to complete 33 years by 09-07-2015.

Hence you can take Civil Services Exam for 2 more years as you are a candidate from OBC category.
