Re: What are the basic qualifications for IPS selection
The basic qualification requirement to appear for IPS entrance exam is graduation degree. You can have graduation degree in any discipline and apply for the IPS entrance exam. It should be noted that apart from qualification requirement, you must also meet physical requirements to appear for the exam.
IPS stands for Indian Police Service. The role of IPS officer is to maintain law and order in the state. IPS officers also play important role in curbing riots or violence in the state. To be able to handle physical strain of IPS, candidates are required to meet certain physical requirements as well. I have mentioned these requirements below. Eligibility 1. You must be citizen of India. 2. You must have a graduation degree in any stream. 3. There is no percentage requirement. Age Limit 1. The age limit for General candidate is 21 to 30 years. 2. OBC candidates gets 3 years relaxation in upper age limit. 3. There is 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates.
