I have sight of 3 at right eye and 2.5 at left eye. If it is problem for not to selected in IAF. Is there any case that I can undergo any laser treatment to get it fixed? Can you please let me know the minimum criteria which are followed to apply? Awaiting for your response.

The physical requirements required for applying to IAF (Indian Army Force) are given below.

- You should be physically and mentally fit without any disabilities and diseases.
- The minimum height should be 152 Cms and the maximum height is 195 Cms for men and the weight should be proportional to height.
- For women the minimum height required is 143 Cms and the maximum height is 175 Cms and the weight should be proportional to height.
- The chest should expand minimum 5 Cms.
- The eye sight should be very clear and should not have any disease in past.
- The hearing should be normal and should not have disease in past.
- There should be no diseases of bones and joints.
- There should be no sign of functional or organic disease of heart and blood vessels.
- A teeth test will be conducted you need to get 14 points in the test. If you have 32 teeth then you need to get 22 points.

Minimum required criteria of physical fitness to apply for IAF:-

Height : 162.5 cms

Weight : should be correlated with weight,

Leg Length : Min – 99 cm. Max – 120 cm.

Thigh Length : Max – 64 cm.

Sitting Height : Min – 81.5 cm. Max – 96 cm.

Vision: Minimum Visual Acuity 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other, correctable to 6/6 only for hypermetropia.

LASIK Surgery for correction of vision is admissible in Transport and Helicopter streams of Short Service Commission (Flying Branch) with some conditions.
