Dear There,

The acronym for IAS is Indian Administrative Services.

IAS is the Administrative Civil Service of the Government of India. Indian Administrative Service officers hold key positions in the Union Government, State governments and Public Sector Undertakings. The Administrative Service is one of the three All India Services.

The IAS officers are recruited by the Union government on the recommendation of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and posted under various State governments.

The examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. It has three stages (preliminary, mains and interview) and is considered to be extremely challenging.

The eligibility criteria required for IAS examination are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of graduation in any discipline from any accredited college or university.

* Final year graduates are also eligible.

* Age relaxation:- 21-30 yrs.

* Age relaxation:- 3 yrs for OBC and 5 yrs for SC/ST contenders.

* Nationality:- Indian.

There is no separate entrance exam called IAS Exam for the candidates to make entry into IAS.

Instead, there is a common written exam for the candidates to make entry into various civil services like
Indian Administrative Service
Indian Police Service
Indian Foreign Service
Indian Postal Service etc.

The entrance exam is civil services exam.

The complete selection procedure to join civil services is
CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
Civil Services Main Exam
Interview

As per your query,
there is no percentage of marks criteria for the candidates to apply for civil services exam.

One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.

So, if you have completed Graduation course, then you can apply for this exam.

There is limit on the number of attempts for this exam which will be
Maximum of 4 times for the candidates of General category
Maximum of 7 times for the candidates of OBC category.
No limit on number of attempts for the candidates of SC or ST category.

Choose the optional subject for this exam in accordance with your stream in Graduation.

Prepare well and crack this exam successfully.

Wish you all the best.
