Eligibility an Income Tax Officer

To become Income Tax officer you have to pass the Civil Services Exam conducted by the Union Public.

Educational Qualification:- To be eligible for becoming an Income Tax
Officer one should hold a Bachelor's degree of any stream.

Age:-The candidate should be 18 years to 27 years.
The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. The upper age limit is also relaxed in favor of certain categories of employees working under the Government of India and Defense Services Personnel.

The notification for the examination, published in the month of April in the Employment News /Rozgar Samachar , Gazette of India.

Process to become an Income Tax Officer:- There are three stage of ITO

1.Preliminary Examination
2.Main Examination
3.Personality Test(interview)

first and the foremost thing would be to become a graduate. If you are already a graduate, you will need to pass the examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (S.S.C.) which happens every year for recruitment to Income Tax Department. The examination is held once a year, generally in the month of April. The examination comprises of Written examination and an Interview for Personality Test for such candidates as may qualify in the written test. The subjects of the examination are General Intelligence, General English, Arithmetical Ability, General Awareness. To clear the exam you should have the ability to work hard for long hours, dedication, total focus towards studies and a keen interest in current affairs. if you are in kolkata then do one thing get admitted to the institution of Rice where you will be trained for one year then try to crack wbsc after that you can carry on you studies to become a income tax officer.................

First of all you need to complete your graduate course then you need to write upsc exam followed by aptitude exam and then you will have selection procedures

for becoming income tax officer you have to appear for upsc exams conducted every year.
after clearing the exam you can become income tax officer.

To become an Income Tax officer you need to appear in the exam conducted by UPSC at combined graduate level.You can be from any stream.

So if you are a graduate then you can appear in said exam.

The candidate must have attained 18 years of age as on 1st July and not more then 27 years as on same date.

OBCs are relexed for 3years.

genarally the notification is declared in feb and the exam takes place in april

one must have done graduation from a recognised university
age limit is 18-27 years (with relaxation for reserved claas))
