In order to sit for the CAT exam all you need is a bachelor's degree. It does not matter in which discipline it has been attained as long as the university that you have attained from is a recognized one. But you need to have at least 50% of marks at graduation level. There is no age criteria as such for this examination. So right after grad and even in the third or final year you are eligible to give this exam. Much the same way there is no limitations on the number of times you can sit for this exam. The exam pattern has been slightly changed. The duration of the exam has been extended by 30 minutes and now the total duration of this exam has become 2 hours and 50 minutes. Apart from that the number of questions per section has been risen from 30 to 50 and hence that kind of justifies why the time limit has been extended. Questions will be asked from the following sections:-

Re: What is the qualification needed for CAT?
The CAT exam is taken by students for getting admission into topmost management institutes of the nation like the IIMs.
Many other institutes also take CAT scores for admissions. For being eligible to take the exam, you need to have a bachelor degree. Even if you are in our final year, you are eligible to appear for the exam. You get a percentile score in the exam and you are asked to fill preference of college as per that percentile. After the exam , you are called for an interview in the college. Regarding the age limit, there is not age limit for taking the exam and hence, number of attempts are not restricted. |
