Being a news anchor demands a lot of skills. A news reader not only delivers the news but also has to work towards making the viewers hooked onto the particular channel. So everything then boils down to how well you are being able to present yourself. However, with time and work experience, one can easily learn these things and make it big in the field.

There isn't any particular course that is offer in India for becoming a news reader. So a degree in Journalism and mass communication comes in handy. Apart from that the courses mentioned below can also help tremendously:-

-The New Delhi YMCA, Institute for Media Studies and Information Technology
Course in News reading (One Month)

-The Janaki Devi Mahavidyalaya of Delhi University
Short Term course on hindi news reading

-The Center for Research in Art of Film and Television, CRAFT
Course in News anchoring and Radio Jockey.

After that with time experience becomes the main tool of any newsreader. Then you will be able to understand the pulse of the viewers better as well as the demands of a particular situation. In addition to the above mentioned courses you can also look for internships with newspapers or other broadcasting station as it adds to the profile of a Journalist.

Salary: Beginners gets around 50,000. After that with experience it can exceed beyong 1Lac as well. But all that depends on how well you are able to make use of the limited opportunities available.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
