as your passioin is news reader, you need to concentrate more in grammar,systematic alignment of passages in english...
very important for you is grammatical papers.. to gain experience,you just approach indian express,the hindu,the times of india for in-plant trainings.. try to do separate course in journalism to get ample knowlege regarding your aim... always read novels like one day night @ the call center,five point someone,etc to improve the systematic flow in english.. read the newspaper,named TIMES OF INDIA because students like you are given oppurtunies... all the best |

The following should be the minimum qualifications to be a successful English news reader;
1. Minimum educational qualification is Graduate with English honors. Master degree in journalism and mass communication will be the added advantage to be preferred as a perfect English news reader. 2. The candidate should have good communication skills in English language. 3. Quality, style and presentation of any news related topic will be an added qualification of his/her special aptitude. |

Re: What should I do to become a News Reader being a candidate of pursuing B.Tech with Mechanical stream?
Journalist mainly needs practical qualification rather than theoretical knowledge. Anyone who have completed 10+2 in any stream can join for journalism courses. At the same time one should have adequate knowledge in English also. It must be one of the main subjects at this level of study. The candidates need not to be a graduate. Since you are a 12th standard student, you can apply for this course after passing the exams. There are many institutes in India that offers various courses in journalism. One can choose courses in this according to their interest. The journalist can work in different areas like newspaper, journals, radio, television, etc. There are wide varieties of opportunities to choose from.As you finished the B.TECH degree equivalent to the graduation degree. so you can do that course (Journalist) form various insitutes .
