You need to complete graduation, in order to apply for IAS. Systematic exam preparation is necessary to clear the test. Topics on Indian polity/constitution, socio-economic changes, etc are asked for the exam. Exam preparations should also be made on English language and general studies session. It can be made after identifying exam pattern and syllabus in detail. Reference books and question papers of previous years can be used for exam preparation.

is it necessary to have arts as a stream to clear ias as i belong to science stream & really want to become an ias officer.

I have completed my 12th with PCMB but, I have changed my course in my college and doing BA because of the rumors stating BA is best for UPSC exams. Have I done the correct thing or should I do something else?
