Entrance exam for the post of Income Tax Officer is conducted by SSC.

SSC - Staff Selection Commission

Eligibility criteria for Income Tax Officer Exam -

Qualification:

Graduation from a recognised university, or equivalent.

Age:

Age should not be not less than 18 years and not greater than 27 years on the first July of the year of examination

Physical Standards (Minimum)

a)Height :157.5cm
b)Chest :81cm ,fully expanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cm
c)Physical Test:
i)Walking:1600 meters in 15 minutes
ii)Cycling:8 Km in 30 minutes

Exam Procedure:

There are two stages of this exam –
1. Written test
2. Personal Interview

Candidates must be complete Bachelor's Degree in any stream from a recognized University
Candidates age limit between 18 to 27 years
Age relaxation as per govt rules
3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates
5 years age relaxation for SC/ST candidates

Selection Process :

Preliminary Examination consisting of two papers
General Intelligence & General Awareness 100 questions for 100 marks for 2Hrs Duration
Arithmetic 100 questions for 100 marks for 2Hrs Duration


Personality Test :
Once you are through the final stage in the Interview
The aspirants are grilled in the interview to test their personality & mental ability

For Income Tax officer SSC CGLE is conducted every years by Staff Selection Commission.

CGLE is a combined graduate level examination for various posts in central government .
You must be a graduate in any discipline to apply for this exam.

The age limit for this exam is 18 to 27 years if you are general category. There is age relaxation available for SC/ST , OBC ,PH and ex servicemen categories.

The notification for SSC CGLE comes in the month of june/july and you can apply for this exam through the SSC website.

The selection will be based on objective type papers of two stages TIER I and TIER II and will be followed by a interview if you get good marks.

So if you want to become you have to wait for some time now and till then you can prepare for the exam as selection is based on it.
