1.what are the criteria for ies exam?
2.what i have to do for attain this exam?
3.i am on 5th sem engg,then when i will be able to attain the next exam?

You didn't mention you specialization in B.tech, so it is difficult to say about you in IES.

Actually IES exam is conducted only for four department of B.Tech as:
Electronics & communication engineering (ECE)
Mechanical engineering (ME)
Electrical engineering (EE)
Civil engineering (CE)

If you belong to any of these department then you can apply for IES, other wise you can't.

& after completion of your B.tech degree you will be eligible for this exam.
& there are no any provision for the appearing(final year) student in this exam.

So, kindly wait for the completion of your B.Tech degree, but during your B.Tech you should prepare for this exam.

as per my knowledge after completing 6th semister means appearing 7th semister student can sit in IES exam.
in IES exam there r mainly two parts of the exam
1.pt(objective test)
2.mains(subjective)
if u cleared that both section then u get reputed engg govt. jobs like
1.sail
2.bhel
3.ntpc
4.rail
5.gail
etc.
so take prepation for IES exam.i hope that u can qualify if u have a determination.
so carry on.

To appear for IES entrance exam you must be a graduate in engineering in one of the courses like civil,mechanical,electronics and electrical.

But if you are not in one of them then no problem you can still appear but you will have to prepare your self by choosing any one of the branches. So its quite tough if you are a computer science or IT student.

But still you can give it a try. You can attempt the exam once you complete you BTech. So prepare hard during your final year and appear in the next year

yes , you can appear ,any engineering graduate appear for it,
IES exam is conducted for four department of B.Tech as:

after completing your B.Tech than you can appear in IES but you can start preparation from final years. you can choose any one branch from civil,electrical,mechanical,ET.

IES entrance test or Indian Engineering Services entrance exam is designed for recruitment of engineers in government services.


IES Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

1) Age Limit:- 21-30 years on the first day of august of the year of examination.

2) Educational Qualifications:-
Applicable for the engineering graduates who have already completed or who are in last year. But last year students are required to produce the proof of passing engineering degree.

So, as you are in your 5th semester so you can try it for the next year.

Examination notifications are published in major newspaper and employment news in January / February.

Exam is conducted in June/ July every year.

a final year b.tech student can appear the IES examination, there are two types of exam one is pt-objective, main- subjective, . for more information you can search on the internet. thanking you..

Hello....Its good that you are a B.Tech biotechnology student and wants to appear for IES exam but the minimum eligibility criteria for this exam is that you need to have minimum of degree certificate in B.E from a recognized college under the following course.
1.mechanical engineering.
2.electrical engineering
3.electronics and telecommunication engineering.
4.civil engineering.
Therefore i don't think you are eligible for the exam.

if you are in last year & completed your engineering you can apply it 2011 ies exam...best wishes for your exams

the ies exam eligibility is b.tech final year students r completed students can also apply.the consisting groups are civil,mech,e.c.e,e.e.e courses are applicable only.the xam is three days.first is of objective ,and the remaining days are descriptiv exams related to the subjects of b.tech. the total mks are of 1000 mks.if u got 600 above mks u can qualify to the ies xam.

IES Exam Eligibility:

Age Eligibility:
You need to be between 21 years to 30 years on the 1st August, 2011.
Age relaxations exist as per Govt. rules.

Academic Eligibility:
You must be a graduate in Engineering from a recognized university.

Hi,

Indian Engineering Service is a very prestigious exam for which thousands of students appear every year.Basically, all streams fo engineering are not eligible for IES exam.
Eligible streams are::

• Civil Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electronics and Communication Engineering
• Electrical Engineering

So students of these streams can appear for this exam.

The eligibility criteria for IES is

• Should be citizen of India
• Should have completed graduation
• Scored minimum 50% marks in graduation
• Should be 21 years old

So, while studying prepare for IES. Once you complete your B.Tech you can write it.

i am a 3rd year btech student ...my branch is EEE..can i apply for IES?

Final year candidates and pass out candidates are eligible to apply for this examination.

Third year students are not eligible to apply for this examination.

Lets see the eligibility criteria for this examination and if satisfy the eligibility criteria you can apply for this examination.

But,your engineering degree ;-

Or M.Sc candidates can apply for this examination.But there is a specific branches.

Candidates who are appearing in the final year of degree course can also apply for this examination.
