Can a Girl become driver in Railways? Procedure to be followed?


Hello sir, I am a girl candidate completed 12th Class in Arts stream. Now I am doing B.A 1st year and I am very much interested in Railway Driving. Could you please tell me the eligibility criteria?

Yes, being a girl you can become an engine drivers, there is no such problem in it. You just have to fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria mentioned below;

> Candidate should have completed a minimum of 12th along with ITI in specialised trades.

> Your age should not be below 18 years and should not exceed 30 years.

> You will have to appear for RRB examination, after clearing which you will be put under training process as a Loco Assistant driver, whose job will be mainly to assist the driver.

With good work and experience, you will be allowed to run an express train, before which you will have to show good work by running goods train, passenger trains, etc.
