I have got 69.66% in 12th Karnataka board and 84.32% in 10th Karnataka board examinations. I want to take up electrical and electronics engineering in Karnataka. Does 12th board marks affect me from getting placed in a company during campus placements? My PCM marks are 88, 65 and 41 respectively. Also, does it affect in getting a government job in India?

Yes, class 12 examination marks are considered in campus placement for private companies. Generally, all MNCs demand an aggregate of 60% marks of marks throughout the academics to be eligible for job. But, it is not true in case of government jobs. As for all government jobs the candidate must have to be passed from a recognized college.

The percentage of marks obtained by you in 12th board exams or bachelor's degree will just be needed for eligibility criteria in major MNCs. The eligibility criteria for most of multinational companies is that candidate must have scored 60% marks from 10th board to bachelor's degree and there should not be any active pending backlogs.

Your percentage of marks in board exam of 12th is enough for making you eligible for any government job or private jobs.

-It is definitely not going to affect in your case since you have not scored bad in your 10th or 12th and you are in safer side getting 70%.
-In some places there might be some question arises if you get very good marks in Engineering than 10th or 12th. Answer will be definitely a positive since you have shown improvement in your further studies after realising the mistakes.
-Interview is always kept to know about yourself, how well you handle pressure or situations, knowledge in the subject you have interest and the character, attitude of yourself.
-Almost all government jobs will have a slab of 60% in 10th and 12th and very few companies will ask for 70%.

For government jobs there is no problem with your marks and you just need to fulfill the minimum criteria. Selection in government jobs will be on the basis of written exam and interview.

For private jobs in some top companies they may ask 60% overall in your career from class 10th till present. Hence, if you have 60% marks overall then no need worry in case of campus placements.
