After completion of B.tech from KSOU
am I eligibler to apear in UPSC Indian
engineering services examinations?
Is the degree from KSOU is acceptable by UPSC?

Candidates who have completed their Graduation degree in Engineering from a recognised university are eligible to appear in Indian Engineering Services examination. The IES examination is conducted by UPSC every year and the eligibility criteria required to appear in IES examination is mentioned below :-

1. You must be a citizen of India.

2. You must be in between 21-30 years old. Upper age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates as per government rules.

3. You must have completed Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology from a recognised university to be eligible to appear in IES examination.

Since, KSOU is a recognised university, you can appear in IES examination after completion of your B.Tech course from Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) .

Yes, you are eligible for IES exam because you have completed B.Tech degree from KSOU.

KSOU is recognized by UGC. I have attached the proof regarding UGC approval of KSOU.

Details of Indian Engineering Service examination is given below.

IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service examination.

If you have completed bachelor engineering degree course then you are eligible to apply for IES Examination but your written exam subjects are -CIVIL, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING. You can choose any one subject from above mentioned subject. M.Sc Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering are also eligible for IES Exam. Final year student are also eligible for IES exam.

The applicant age should be in between 21 to 30 years.

SC/ST = 5 years
OBC =3 years
PWD =10 years
Ex-Servicemen = 5 years

The IES (Indian Engineering Service) is being conducted by UPSC and is held every year. This exam is conducted for candidates to join in Engineering organizations in India. There are eligibility criteria which are needed to be satisfied and they include such as:

Nationality:

# Candidate should have a citizenship in India

Age Limit:

# Age limit needed is 21-30 years for general category candidate.

# For SC/ST candidate it is 21-35 years and for OBC it is 21-33 years.

Educational qualification:

# The educational qualification needed is candidate should have completed a degree from a recognized university in the following streams:

• Civil Engineering,
• Mechanical Engineering,
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics & Tele Communication Engineering

The candidate who satisfies all these criteria, is eligible for the IES exam. Having completed B.tech you are satisfying the educational qualification, check whether you satisfy the other criteria's also.

KSOU is the Karnataka State Open University. It is recognized by the Distance Education Council, New Delhi.

So, donot worry the degree obtained from this university is valid and you are eligible to appear for the Indian Engineering Services examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.

The age limit is 21-30 years with upper age relaxed upto three years for OBC candidates and five years to SC/ST candidates.

Entrance exam is conducted in only four streams:

~~Electrical Engineering.

~~Mechanical Engineering.

~~Electronics and Communication Engineering.

~~Civil Engineering.

The last date for applying online for IES 2015 was 10/04/2015.

Eligibility to apply for UPSC Indian Engineering Service Examination 2015 :

Candidate must have passed a bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized university and degree must be of any of the following disciplines of engineering :

>> Civil Engineering
>> Mechanical Engineering
>> Electrical Engineering
>> Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

Age of the candidate should be minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years as on 1st August of the year.

Upper age is relaxable for reserved category candidates upto 05 years for SC/ST candidates and 03 years for OBC candidates.

This examination is conducted in June/July of the year and notice of recruitment published in January/February so you should keep in touch with it and get latest updates on the official website of UPSC board.

You have acquired your engineering degree from Karnataka State Open University so I would say that KSOU is the recognized university and you are eligible to apply for this examination.

If you are really serious about preparation of IES/ GATE/ PSUs then you should go to the coaching center which are available in almost every single state and capitals and other big cities of the states so you can easily find a platform to study and learn well for your preparation and techniques how to crack exam and score good marks to be selected finally for the job.

Yes, as you have completed your bachelor's degree in technology from Karnataka State Open Univeristy, you are eligible for the Engineering services exam because KSOU is recognized by Distance Education Council.

The dates for online application of IES 2015 is over now as the last date was 10/04/2015.

It consists of entrance exam having general ability paper followed by objective paper and conventional papers.

Yes, you are eligible to apply for the IES exam after completing Bachelor's degree from a recognized university,i.e.,KSOU.

The eligibility criteria for UPSC Indian Engineering Services Exam are as follows:-

-The candidate applying for the IES exam must be a citizen of India.

-The candidate must posses a Bachelor's degree in Engineering(B.E./B.Tech.) from a recognized university or any other equivalent qualification.

-The age limit to apply for the IES exam is from 21 years to 30 years as on the 1st August of the year of the examination.There is relaxation in upper age limit by 3 years for OBC candidate and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
