No, you can not join in Armed Forces with eye vision 6/24.

Eye sight for Indian Army =

1. Uncorrected without glass – 6/12
2. Corrected with glass – 6/6
3. Limits of Myopia – 3.5
4. Limits of Hypermetropia – +2.5
5. Binocular vision III
6. Limits of Colour Perception I

Eye sight for Indian Navy =

1. Uncorrected without glass: 6/6
2. Corrected with glass: 6/6
3. Limits of Myopia: -0.75
4. Limits of Hypermetropia: +1.5
5. Limits of Colour Perception: I
6. Binocular Vision: III

Eye sight for Indian Air force =

1. Minimum distant vision 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other
2. Correctable to 6/6 only for Hypermetropia
3. Colour vision CP-I
4. Hypermetropia = + 2.0 D Sph
5. Manifest Myopia = Nil

Visual standards to join in Armed Forces is mentioned below :-

Visual acuity without spectacles: 6/12
Visual acuity with spectacles: 6/6
Lens power: -0.75 to +1.75 dioptres
Astigmatism: Max of 0.75 dioptres
Colour perception: Ishihara test pass

Following are eye sight requirement for defense services:

Eyesight must be 6/6 or 6/36 for distant vision.

Whereas for Spectacles corrected vision limit is 6/9.

Limits of Myopia Nil

Limits of Hypermetropia +2.00D

Color Vision CPI (MLT)

Astigmatism +0.75

Near vision N-5 each Eye

To join in Armed forces of India is a great thing and an opportunity to serve the country, but to do that you need to apply for entrance exams which are conducted by satisfying the eligibility criteria's needed. According to the entrance exams you need to satisfy:

• Nationality
• Age limit
• Martial Status
• Educational Qualification
• Physical Standard

If you satisfy them all then you can apply for the respected entrance exam. As you have asked for the information regarding the eye standards which is needed for joining in armed forces, i have mentioned it below for reference:

In order to join Armed forces, the candidates have to fulfill all the eligibility requirements along with the physical requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

* Candidate should be physically fit and healthy.

* There should not be any bodily defects.

* Height - 157.5 cms.

* Chest - 82 cms.

* A candidate should have no mental breakdown or fits.

* The candidate should be able to read 6/6 in a distant vision with or without glasses.

* The candidate with glasses should able to read 6/6 in a distant vision with both better and worse eyes.

* The candidate without glasses should be able to read 6/6 distant vision for better eye and 6/9 for worse eye.

No I am sorry to say that you are nor eligible to join Indian Armed forces with eyesight being 6/24 as the eyesight requirement to join Indian Army in;

6/6 for corrected with glass and

6/12 for uncorrected without glass

Therefore, I am sorry to say that you are not eligible to join Indian Armed forces with the vision you mentioned.

Hello,

Indian Army requires you to have a perfect eyesight without any aid. The reason is that lot of signals given at the border and perfect eyesight is used to recognize them because the slight error may cause a lot of problems.

If you don't have a perfect eyesight then, you would not get rejected.You will be given a Temporary rejection.You will have a time of around 40 days to cure your eyes naturally.

Eligibility-
A candidate should be able to read 6/6 in a distant vision with or without glasses.

Sir my brother gave medical test for Indian army and given temporary rejection with refract distant chart reading 6/36 with both eyes.what to do?

I have 6/6 in one eye and no vision on other left eye. Whether I can apply for army or police. Please reply sir

My right eye has amblyopia... And it's vision is 6/15 am I eligible for any defence..?
