I am doing bachelor in computer application BCA
but am studying in 1st year and i am 22 years old.
may i kindly know the procedure
how to get into indian navy??????

To join in Indian Navy, you need to appear in CDS examination which is conducted by UPSC twice a year. Eligibility Criteria required to appear in CDS Indian Navy examination is mentioned below :-

1. You must be a citizen of India.

2. You must have completed Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognised university.

3. You must be in between 19-22 years old.

4. You must be an Unmarried Male candidate.

5. You must be Physically and Mentally fit.

Selection Procedure :-
1. Written Test
2. Personality Test
3. Document Verification
4. Medical Test
By qualifying all the rounds of selection procedure, you can join in Indian Navy of Combined Defence Services. Since, you are not an Engineering graduate, you are not eligible to join in Indian Navy.

Combined defence service examination (CDS) is conducted by Union public service commission (UPSC) every year for recruitment of Indian military academy (IMA), Naval academy, Air force academy, Officers Training academy.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :

1. Candidate must be a citizen of India.

2. AGE LIMIT :

* 19-24 years for IMA
* 19-22 years for Naval academy
* 19-23 years for Air force academy
* 19-25 years for Officers training academy

3. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :

* For Indian Military academy/ Officers training academy candidate must possess a Degree from recognized university/Institution.

* For naval Academy candidate must hold a Degree in B.Sc with Mathematics and physics or should possess a degree from engineering.

* For Air force academy candidate must hold a degree in B.Sc with physics and/ or Mathematics or should possess a Bachelor of engineering.

As by applying the CDS you are not eligibel to apply for Indian navy but you are eligible to appear for Indian Military academy.

But there is an another opportunity to join in Indian navy that is you are eligible for

1. Permanent commission logistics
2. short service commission (Information technology)
3. Short service commission logistics

To get entry into that stream the candidate must have a minimum of 65% percentage.

You can definitely join Indian Navy after completion of your BCA course. You will be eligible for the following posts. The selection procedure is :-

- Interview
- Physical and Medical Examination

You need to have atleast 60% in your BCA to be eligible for the above job posts.

You can do so by fighting the Combined Defense Services Examination.

CDSE is conducted by the UPSC twice a year in the month of February and October for the recruitment of officers in the defence forces.

The eligibility criteria for the same is as follows :

* The candidate should be a citizen of India.

* The candidate should be mentally and physically fit.

* The candidate should have done the graduation under the scheme of 10+2+3 at least from a recognized university.

* The minimum age for appearing is 21 years at least.

You can appear in the examination right from the final year of your graduation degree.

YOu can join Indian Navy through CDS exam.

UPSC conducts CDS(Combined Defense Services) exam every year for recruitment in different wings of Indian Army.

The eligibility criteria for CDS exam are as under:-

-The candidate must be an Indian.

-The qualification required for

Indian Military Academy/Officer's Training Academy-Graduation in any discipline.

Indian Naval Academy-Bachelor of Engineering.

Indian Air Force Academy-10+2 level degree with Physics and Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering.

-For CDS exam,the age limit for

Indian Military Academy- 19 years to 24 years

Indian Naval Academy-19 years to 22 years

Indian Air Force Academy-19 years to 23 years

Officer's Training Academy-19 years to 25 years

-The candidate should be physically fit as per the Physical Standards for admission to CDS exam.

-The exam process involves

*Interview by Services Selection Board.
