IAS stands for the Indian Administrative Services. Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil Services examination for the different services like IAS, IPS, IRS etc. The eligibility criteria for the Civil Services examination is:

There is no such specific percentage criteria set by the UPSC in bachelor's degree. Even with passing percentage of marks, you can apply for the exam.

>>The age limit for the candidates of general category is 21-32 years and upper age relaxations for candidates of reserved category. Three years to OBC and five years to SC/ST respectively.

There are three stages of this exam:

Hi,

To become an IAS officer any degree with minimum pass percentage (may be around 50-60%) is sufficient.

You must be a citizen of INDIA

You must lie between 21-30 yrs. There is age relaxation also. for obc-3yrs, for sc/st - 5yrs.

When you are very much focused in IAS choose a course which ends early like arts degree. Its not wise to choose engineering and after that start to prepare.Choose your degree which will help you in your IAS preparation also.

You have to appear for UPSC examination. According to your score you will be given the posting. There are 3 rounds in it.

* preliminary examination
* main examination
* interview
