Chances to study PhD in IIT with 858 All India Rank in GATE?


Sir,
I am a student of M.Sc(Mathematics). I also belong to SC category. My All India Rank in GATE is 858. Is there any chance for getting PhD program in IIT? If no, then where?

You have good chance of getting admission in IIT for Ph.D but performance in the interview will be crucial. IITs prefer candidates with good research experience specially those who have JRF exposure.

But still you can make your luck if you perform well in the interview stage which will be conducted by the concerned IIT.
