You need 50% marks in degree to become eligible for CAT if you are a general category candidate. There is 5% marks relaxation for reserved category candidates and they need only 45% marks.

You have less then 45% marks which makes you not eligible for CAT even if you belong to reserved category. You can try your luck at GMAT.

CAT stands for Common Admission Test. It is an MBA entrance examination which is conducted by Indian Institutes of Management for admission to business administration programs. Candidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation course or those who have completed Bachelor's degree in any discipline with minimum aggregate of 50% (45% for SC/ ST) marks from a recognised university are eligible to appear in CAT examination. Since, you have completed B.Com course with an aggregate of 44% marks from a recognised university, you are not eligible to appear in CAT examination.

The minimum percentage required for appearing for the Common Admission Test (CAT) is 50% for General and NC-OBC categories, and 45% for SC/ST/PwD categories. The percentage is calculated on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained in the bachelor's degree. The degree must be from a recognized university or institute.
