Re: Minimum percentage required in B.Tech to be eligible for CAT?
actually after graduation everyone is eligible for CAT. there is no such criterion of minimum marks for appearing in CAT examination.
but after qualifying CAT when you will go to take admission then there are some college which take admission for those student who have marks grater than 50 or 55% in graduation and 60% in class 10 and class 10+2. then if you have less marks you will not be eligible for that institution. also some company recruit MBA student who have minimum of 55% or 60% marks throughout career. in that case also you will be not eligible for that company if you have less marks. but also there are so many company who have no such criterion. so do not worry about it. best wishes. |

Re: Minimum percentage required in B.Tech to be eligible for CAT?
Common Admission Test (CAT) is conducted for admission in Master of Business Administration. The post graduation course is related to management and if the candidate is interested in managerial type of job, then he/she should apply for it.
Common Admission Test is the most popular among the all entrance exams conducted for Master of Business Administration. The reason behind it is that Common Admission Test is conducted for admission in Indian Institute of Management. Indian Institute of Managements (IIMs) are the most reputed B-Schools in the country. They are ranked as the top Master of Business Administration institutes in the country. The criteria to appear for Common Admission Test is same regardless of which graduation degree you hold. CAT Eligibility 1. Candidate should have completed graduation from a recognized university. 2. At least 50 percent marks in graduation. 3. SC/ST candidate need 45 percent marks. This criteria also applies on Bachelor of Technology graduates. You should meet the criteria above to apply for Common Admission Test. In case you are not meeting the percentage criteria to appear for Common Admission Test, I will recommend that you appear for the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) Management Aptitude Test is conducted four times in a year for Master of Business Administration admission. You simply need a bachelor degree to appear for Management Aptitude Test. There is no criteria for percentage. |

Re: Minimum percentage required in B.Tech to be eligible for CAT?
Quote:
One of the topmost B-School in India IIM conducts the CAT exam for those students who wants to pursue post graduation in management. The full form of CAT is Common Admission Test and it is the most toughest exam to crack to do MBA. Therefore its popularity is sky-high and every year thousands of students registers for this course and tries to crack this one. IIM is an autonomous institution so the CAT score is not accepted by other universities. But other topmost autonomous institutions do accepts this score. You can give this exam only once a year. To sit for the exam you need to be a graduate first. At UG level you need to secure minimum 50% of marks in aggregate. For SC/ST candidates the percentage to secure is 45% of marks. So there is some percentage relaxation for them. If you are a final year student about to sit for the final year exam or awaiting the final result then also you can sit for this exam. Written examination, group discussion and interview session are the three rounds to clear in order to get finally selected. All the three rounds are equally important so you should try and give your best in each round. Mainly objective questions comes which are conceptual. So you need to understand them deeply and get a grip over it. Only mugging wont lead you anywhere. For every wrong answer you give a certain percentage of marks will be deducted from the original score. The whole paper needs to be completed in two and a half hours' time and be very cautious when answering each of them. For the exam you need to stress on the following areas: Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Problem Solving and Data Interpretation. Hope this helps |

Such candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/ Registrar/ Director / Director of the University/Institution certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year / is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category) based on the latest available grades/marks. |
