For all IIMs, Candidates need to have a bachelors degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)/ All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) with 60% as eligible for Post-Graduate Studies in Management. Students who are to qualify in the following year also can appear for CAT Exam.

Percentage is not more important just have more the 60% that is ok, but what mark you get in the CAT exam is more important, work accordingly, try to go any Center to prepare well for the exam like IIM and TIMES, this is more important, to select in the IIM you should pass the Exam for that to select, Best of luck

actually after graduation everyone is eligible for CAT. there is no such criterion of minimum marks for appearing in CAT examination.

but after qualifying CAT when you will go to take admission then there are some college which take admission for those student who have marks grater than 50 or 55% in graduation and 60% in class 10 and class 10+2. then if you have less marks you will not be eligible for that institution.

also some company recruit MBA student who have minimum of 55% or 60% marks throughout career. in that case also you will be not eligible for that company if you have less marks. but also there are so many company who have no such criterion. so do not worry about it.

best wishes.

Common Admission Test (CAT) is conducted for admission in Master of Business Administration. The post graduation course is related to management and if the candidate is interested in managerial type of job, then he/she should apply for it.

Common Admission Test is the most popular among the all entrance exams conducted for Master of Business Administration. The reason behind it is that Common Admission Test is conducted for admission in Indian Institute of Management.

Indian Institute of Managements (IIMs) are the most reputed B-Schools in the country. They are ranked as the top Master of Business Administration institutes in the country. The criteria to appear for Common Admission Test is same regardless of which graduation degree you hold.

CAT Eligibility

1. Candidate should have completed graduation from a recognized university.

2. At least 50 percent marks in graduation.

3. SC/ST candidate need 45 percent marks.

This criteria also applies on Bachelor of Technology graduates. You should meet the criteria above to apply for Common Admission Test. In case you are not meeting the percentage criteria to appear for Common Admission Test, I will recommend that you appear for the Management Aptitude Test (MAT)

Management Aptitude Test is conducted four times in a year for Master of Business Administration admission. You simply need a bachelor degree to appear for Management Aptitude Test. There is no criteria for percentage.

CAT Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

One of the topmost B-School in India IIM conducts the CAT exam for those students who wants to pursue post graduation in management. The full form of CAT is Common Admission Test and it is the most toughest exam to crack to do MBA. Therefore its popularity is sky-high and every year thousands of students registers for this course and tries to crack this one.

IIM is an autonomous institution so the CAT score is not accepted by other universities. But other topmost autonomous institutions do accepts this score. You can give this exam only once a year.

To sit for the exam you need to be a graduate first. At UG level you need to secure minimum 50% of marks in aggregate.

For SC/ST candidates the percentage to secure is 45% of marks. So there is some percentage relaxation for them.

If you are a final year student about to sit for the final year exam or awaiting the final result then also you can sit for this exam.

Written examination, group discussion and interview session are the three rounds to clear in order to get finally selected. All the three rounds are equally important so you should try and give your best in each round.

Mainly objective questions comes which are conceptual. So you need to understand them deeply and get a grip over it. Only mugging wont lead you anywhere.

For every wrong answer you give a certain percentage of marks will be deducted from the original score. The whole paper needs to be completed in two and a half hours' time and be very cautious when answering each of them.

For the exam you need to stress on the following areas: Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Problem Solving and Data Interpretation.

Hope this helps

hi
the minimum percentage required in the graduation for giving the CAT examination is 50%. A relaxation of 5% is given to the sc/st students. The CAT paper includes the question based on quantitative aptitude, verbal and reasoning. The result is declared and then according to your percentile in the result, you get the call from different institutions for group discussions and personal interviews.

ELIGIBILITY:

The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste(SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Persons with Disability (PWD) category), of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutes established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1965, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

The Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. The percentage obtained by the candidate in the bachelor's degree would be based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree.

In case of the candidates being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the University/Institution from where they have obtained Bachelor's degree. In case the University/ Institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalence marks, the equivalence would be established by the IIMs by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100

Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. Such candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/ Registrar/ Director / Director of the University/Institution certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year / is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category) based on the latest available grades/marks.

You should pass B.Tech with 50% marks if you want to apply for CAT.

CAT is Common Admission Test and you have to be a Graduate in any discipline with 50% marks from a recognised University.

There is 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST category candidates.

So if you satisfy above criteria then you can start your preparation as soon as possible so that you are not left behind in the competition.

CAT is a very competitive examination and many Graduates apply for it every year but only those who are best will get admission in best institutions.

CAT Exam Pattern

The CAT exam is of 155 minutes .CAT is divided into two following sections:

-Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation

-Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning

You have to attempt both sections one after another with separate time limits.

There will be negative marking for every wrong answer.

Test will contain 60 questions.
