Hey friend,

To become a IPS officer you need to write the IPS Exam which is being conducted by UPSC and is held every year.

For applying for this exam there are criteria's which are needed to be satisfied and for applying for the exam to become a IPS officer with a qualification of completed +2 is not possible as per the education qualification needed.

The education qualification needed for applying for the IPS exam is that the candidate must have completed a degree and that can be from any discipline and with a fair percentage.

If you are going for NDA then you cannot join in IPS as it is better that you serve the country in through defence or do police service.

Anyways both these exams is conducted by UPSC and is held every year.

So,if wishing to join in IPS means then you cannot apply at this time as you are not satisfying the criteria as per now as with your education qualification and even you will be younger as per the age limit standard as you need to be 21-30 years of age

So continue your studies and finish a degree and then apply for the exam

First you need to get your priority right. Do you want to join Defence Force or Indian Police Service. Please make a choice because you can not join both. If you decides to appear for NDA exam and get selected then there is no point thinking about the IPS.

However if you are rejected by the NDA then only you can try for the Indian Police Service. However your qualification will be short for IPS. You will first have to complete graduation. You can choose any stream as per your comfort and the percentage would not matter.

You can apply for the Indian Police Service after being in the final year of graduation course or after clearing the Bachelor course. If you decides to do graduation then start preparing for the Indian Police Service Exam in advance.

It is a very tough and competitive exam therefore you will not make a cut unless prepare well in advance. You must have two optional subjects in mind that you will select for Main Examination.

At the same time it is important to prepare for general studies papers. It can be done by studying NCERT 12th standard books. For Generak Knowledge, watch a lot of news and make sure you do not miss any major development. For example the recent cabinet reshuffle is a big news. You should know who is new External Affairs Minister etc.

Eligibility

1. The Civil Service Exam is only open for Indian citizens.

2. A bachelor degree in any stream is required.

Age Limit

For General - 21 to 30 years.

For OBC - 21 to 33 years.

For SC/ST - 21 to 35 years.

well let me make this point clear to you that there is the minimum qualification to apply for ips is graduation (in any discipline),so if you get selected for NDA then you will not be able to complete your graduation because you will be easy in your training periods,so you can not apply for IPS basically there is no way to join IPS after getting selected for NDA,you will have to leave NDA for joining IPS, because you need to complete your graduation for applying for IPS and that means both the thing cannot be done simultaneously.
