Indian Statistical Institute B.Stat Papers
Indian Statistical Institute is a very famous institute in India for its Bachelors and Masters Degree programme in Mathematics and Statistics. One of the programmes offered by ISI is B.Stat. It covers several areas of statistics to have a thorough knowledge of the subject. It includes both Mathematics as well as Computer science. The students who have successfully completed their B. Stat. Degree will be automatically get admission for M. Stat programme.
Division of the paper:
It is a three years course which is further divided into six semesters. There are five papers in each semester and exams are conducted at the end of every semester. All these are credit courses. The first trimester has a compulsory non elective for English deficient students.
Paper Pattern:
Both core subjects and electives are the part of the course. The core subjects include vectors, statistics methods, algebra and computer related skills etc. The elective subjects include economics, physics, biology, sociology etc. The electives are divided in four groups. The students have to select all the subject of any one group. The electives are for third, fourth and fifth semester (one each seemster).
The students are free to select their elective subjective according to their choice and according to the time table. But the additional elective subjects are non-credit subject.
Marking Pattern:
The maximum marks allotted for all the papers are one hundred. The only subject which is of two hundred marks is Statistics Comprehensive.The aggregate marks are assigned to the students according to the credits of particular subject.
