Indian Statistical Institute is one of the pioneering Institutions offering the course in M.Math. The Institute has earned a high degree of reputation because of the large extent of contribution made through different researches as well as programmes.

Division of the Paper:

There are a total of four semesters in the course, with each of the semester offering a total of five papers.

Paper pattern:

The course is overall divided into four different semesters. Each of the semesters offers five papers. Each of the paper is divided into two main groups. The first offers compulsory thirteen papers, which the candidates have to attempt, the names o few of them can be mentioned such as General Topology, Complex Analysis, Measure theory, etc. The second group offers a maximum of twenty-six papers, out of which candidates have to attempt any seven. The names of few of the offered names are Number Theory, Ergodic Theory, Lie Groups & Lie Algebram etc.

Markings:

Each of the papers in each of the group offers a maximum of one hundred marks and is associated with a certain points and credit system.

Time allotted for the examination:

The course has a maximum of two years duration, with each of the semester offering around six months. The maximum time duration for each of the paper is three hours.
