M.Tech in Rubber Technology, Rubber Technology M.Tech
It is a branch of engineering which is concerned with the processing and synthesis of latex, natural rubber and synthetic rubber. Rubber is made and processed such that it can be put to good use both for commercial as well as industrial goods. It involves the study of all processes involved with rubber synthesis such as vulcanization, calendaring etc.
Eligibility:
For getting admitted to M.Tech course in Rubber Technology, the candidate must be a graduate in engineering (B.Tech) or science (M.Sc). The Candidate must be a B.Tech in either Polymer engineering, or Chemical Engineering or M.Sc in Polymer Chemistry or similar branch. A candidate having an equivalent degree such as AMIE may also apply. The admissions to reputed Universities are on the basis of GATE score or any other entrance exam marks.
Course Outlook:
M.Tech in rubber Technology is a two year full time course. The main subjects that a candidate has to study in the first year are industrial rubber, Rubber compounding and reinforcing materials, manufacturing technology. Lot of time is dedicated to lab work. In the second year of study, the candidate has to prepare Thesis and go through industrial training.
Job Prospects:
The demands for rubber goods such as tyres, insulation materials, waterproof wares etc. is ever lasting. India lacks professionals in Rubber technology since it is a new branch. The major companies that hire Rubber technology professionals are MRF, Apollo Tyres, Ceat, and petrochemical industries like Haldia petrochemicals, Reliance petrochemicals etc.

Sir, I have done M.Sc.in organic chemistry and post graguate diploma in rubber technology from delhi affiliated to kharagpur.can u suggest me any other course in same field which is possible through distance learning.I am presently working in tyre industry.
