The Navy is the third body of the Indian Armed Forces. It is considered to be a very challenging field. Not only are they concerned with securing the border regions of the Indian Territory, they are also required at times of war. An individual who is employed in the official cadre of the Navy is called a Naval Officer.

Qualifying Exam

The Union Public Service Commission carries out an entrance exam for the recruitment of candidates into the navy. After passing this written exam, the students will be required to pass is a series tests that is held by the Staff Selection Board.  A merit list will be compiled by the board on the basis of the performance of the candidates. Subsequent to this, the Naval HQ will issue instructions on joining the Naval Academy for training.

Who is eligible to apply?

The basic qualification needed for a candidate to join the Indian Navy is a pass in standard 10+2 with a back ground in science. The candidates must also have studied English as one of their subjects. Those who wish to get employed with the technical cadre ought to score a minimum of 70% marks in the finals. The candidates should be permanent residents of India and should not be above 19 years of age when they apply.

How to prepare for exam and interview?

An aspirant who seeks to join the Indian Navy must be both mentally as well as physically fit. It will also be required for them to adapt with all situations they might come to encounter. When preparing for the entrance exam, the aspirants need to focus a lot on their studies and alongside this, read newspapers and journals. Periodicals like Competition Success Review will also provide them with a lot of help. Following the written exam, an interview will be held to test the personality of the aspirant. This interview will determine the chances of the interview to get a place in the Academy. Keeping this in mind, the aspirant must reply to the questions in a truthful manner. They should never show any predisposition to any subject at anytime.
