Mizoram University is a central university which is affiliated to University Grants Commission. The university was established in the year 2001 under Mizoram University Act, 2000 of the Parliament of India. Governor of Mizoram is the Chancellor of the university while the present Vice Chancellor of the university is Professor Lalthantluanga. The strength of the academic staff of the university is approximatley 232. The university has an urban campus located at Aizawl, Mizoram. The university offers various programmes or schemes to its students. The university also has one constituent college named Pachhunga University College.
