This scholarship is granted by the Paul Foundation for meritorious students. The aim of this scheme is to endow young scholars with an opportunity for to pursue the career of their choice either in India or abroad. The notifications for the Paul Foundation Scholarships are publicized in leading newspapers annually in the month of November. The main target of the Paul foundation is the children from Kolkata’s poorest localities where students face the odds of dropping out of their studies and school either because they cannot afford to study in schools or cannot deal with the pressure of their studies.

Paul Foundation Scholarship Eligibility

Candidates who are applying for this scholarship must have first class marks in all the qualifying exams they have written previously (the undergraduate or post graduate level). The students should not be above 30 years of age at the time of applying.

The students will be asked questions on the base of their educational qualifications.

Application Form and Fee

The application can be purchased from the office counter of the Pail Foundation, Kolkata. Desired individuals can also download the form from the official website of the Paul Foundation- www.thepaulfoundation.org. The students who get selected for the scholarship will be offered a maximum amount of Rs. 15 lakhs a year.

Candidates must submit the form alongside all official records concerning the applicant’s academic achievements. The application must also contain the receipt for admission in a top ranked university in this country or overseas.

Selection Process

Alongside the academic records, the students must also submit a 2000 word essay which states the understanding of the candidate about his/her stream. Besides this, they must also provide a 300 words individual profile that is based on their academic potential. The applications of those candidates who get selected will be short listed and these students will need to be present for an interview. The interview will generally be carried out in the months of June – July.
