University of Burdwan conducts Joint Entrance Test every year for admission of eligible candidates to its 3-year LLB programme. Selection to the LLB course in University of Burdwan and affiliated colleges will be made strictly on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Joint Entrance Test conducted by the University.

Structure of University of Burdwan LLB Entrance test

The University of Burdwan LLB Entrance test will consist of both objective as well as descriptive type questions. The test will be of 105 minutes duration. The objective type questions carry 1 mark each. There will be negative marking also. For each wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deduced. The subjective paper will be of 45 minutes duration.

Objective paper will contain three parts of

• General English
• Logical Reasoning & Comprehension
• General Knowledge and Current Affairs

Subjective paper will contain

• Essay Writing
• Letter Writing

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates those who have completed their 3 years bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% in case of SC and ST category candidates) are eligible to appear for the University of Burdwan LLB Entrance test. The candidates in the final year of under graduate programme can also apply for the same.

How to Apply?

The application form along with the information brochure, Blank Hall Ticket& candidate’s manual can be obtained from the University Sales Counter at Rajbati, Burdwan on cash payment of Rs. 150/-. One can also download the same from the official website of the University. The duly filled application form along with attested photocopies of the mark lists & admit Card, two recent passport size self attested photographs and cash receipt in case of depositing the application fee at the University Cash Counter or Demand Draft drawn in favour of ‘The Finance Officer, University of Burdwan in case of downloaded forms has to be sent to Office of the Secretary, Law Faculty Council, Rajbati, Burdwan University on or before the last date.

How to fill the Form?

• Read the information brochure before filling the application form
• All the columns have to be filled providing the exact details
• No column should be left blank
• There should not be any overwriting or striking of data in the form
• Mention correctly the contact details, qualification details, category name, and other relevant details in the appropriate places.
• Name, date of birth and other personal details entered in the application form has to match with that in the degree certificate
• Affix a recent passport size photograph in the specified places

One should also make sure that the application form along with the required enclosures reaches the destination before the dead line
