UPSC Civil Services Main Examination: Agriculture (Paper I) Papers

Civil Services Examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The exam is held in two phases. The first phase is Preliminary Examination. Students who clear the prelims are eligible to sit for the mains. The main exam consists of nine papers. Students can choose two optional subjects from a list of subjects provided by the UPSC. There will be two papers on each of the optional subject.

Agriculture is one of the optional subjects. There are two papers on it. The pattern of Paper I is given here. The exam is of duration of three hours and the maximum marks are 300. The questions are printed in both English and Hindi. Students have to specify the medium of answering before filing the application form. They cannot answer in any language other than the specified.

The paper is divided in two sections. There are eight questions given in the paper. Each question carries 60 marks. The questions can be further sub-divided into smaller sub-sections. Question numbers 1 and 5 are compulsory. Three more questions are to be attempted from the remaining questions, taking at least one question from each section. So the total number of questions to be attempted is five.
