Tripura is a state located in the North Eastern Part of the nation and higher education scenario in the state began its journey in the year 1947, when the Maharaja Bir Bikarm College was established. Soon after this several other colleges were established in the state under different categories like professional college, technical colleges and general colleges. Engineering Admission Process in the state:

Admission of students to the engineering courses offered by the engineering institutions in Tripura is done based on the merit secured by the candidates in Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination shortly called as TBJEE. This examination is conducted for selection of candidates to the state-quota engineering seats except for the seats in the National Institute of Technology at Tripura.

Reservation of seats:

Of the total number of seats available for engineering courses in the state, some percentage of seats are reserved for candidates from other states and there is also reservation for SC/ST candidates belonging to the state of Tripura.

Pattern of TBJEE examination for admission to engineering courses:

TBJEE for engineering admission has three papers namely physics, chemistry and mathematics. Each subject will be conducted for 100 marks with 60% multiple choice questions and 40% subjective questions or short answer questions.
