UPSC Civil Services: Statistics Prelims Papers
Civil Services are one of the most prestigious services of our country. They include services like the IAS, the IFS, and the IPS etc. To get these services one has to sit for the civil services exam conducted by the Union Public Services Commission. The exam is held every year and is conducted in two stages. The first stage is a preliminary exam, clearing which make a candidate eligible to sit for the mains. Students can select from a wide list of subjects the subject of their choice. Statistics is one of them. The pattern of the Statistics prelims is given below.
The prelim of Statistics is an objective type examination consisting of multiple choice type questions. The maximum marks are 300 and the time duration for the exam is two hours. There are 120 questions in the paper. The questions are of equal marks. There are four options with each question out of which one is correct. The answers are to be marked on a separate answer sheet. Negative marking is 33% of the marks allotted to the question which is answered wrong. Multiple answers are also treated as wrong answers and same penalty is levied for this too. Questions not attempted do not attract any penalty.
