Indian Forest Sevices examination is conducted on an all India level and many candidates appear for this exam as they find more challenges and adventures in this job. As the seats are limited so the candidates who have strong hold on English, General knowledge and their optional subjects get through this entrance exam. After the entrance exam, the selected candidates have to go through a round of Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The candidates are finally selected based on their performance in all the departments of this entrance procedure.

The IFS exam has several optional papers of which Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science is one of them. The paper I of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science is of 3 hours duration and is of 200 marks. There are two sections containing 4 questions each. There are two compulsory questions, one from each section i.e. question 1 from section A and question 5 from section B. Along with these two questions candidates have to attempt 3 more questions by selecting at least one from both sections. Therefore a candidate is required to answer 5 questions out of 8 questions. The answers are to be written in English and answers should be supported with diagrams if required.
