Graduates- Start thinking about Summer Jobs
There is no need to say about the importance of money. Today the world is running behind the power of money and money is in its ever demanding stage. It is not because man has become greedy in the modern age, it is because the world is offering many comforts for the mankind and we are attracted to those facilities. Everybody wants those things in our life, but unfortunately the recourses are not enough to satisfy the increasing population demands. It is funny that except the human life every other thing has become costlier in these recent times. So when it comes to the cost, the basic and most important cost in the modern life is the educational course. It is very hard to get an admission in the kindergarten and when somebody gets through, the parents start to worry about fees and other expenses. If this is the case of KG, we can imagine, what will be the cost for the higher education?
In India the situation is like, very few of the aspirants of higher education can manage the higher studies and from those, a small proportion can make it through the regular mode. The others are looking for other alternatives and the rest will end-up with some job. This is the case of education and the expense. What about our unemployment ratio? Thanks to the globalization and IT booms, it is not a dreadful figure. But still when you look into the job profile of our young ones, they are not in the position, which they desired for or which they wanted to be in.
The Engineering talents in our India have to take some graduate jobs and so as the management professionals. One of the reason may be the high external competition, the employer have a lot of options, not for the employee. Another fact is the skills and experience required for today’s competitive job. So when you combine these money factor and valuable exposure you will reach to the summer jobs.
Summer Jobs
Summer jobs are mainly intended for the college students. A job they can take during the vacation time or can do as a part time mode. Summer jobs are much popular in our country and there are many employers offering such jobs to the students. Mainly the retail and fast food sector are known for providing summer jobs to the students. But recently some of the IT sectors are also coming forward with summer jobs. They are offering projects to the graduate students.
The employer also get benefited out of such openings, the part timers or the summer job candidates are paid less than that of the permanent ones in the same organization. So here are some benefits for the students taking summer jobs.
Support You Expense
Through a summer job you may not be able to give a complete support to the expense part of the course. But surely you will be able to handle your own means during the course. If you need to buy a text book or even a pen you don’t need to ask your parents for such expense. You picnics and parties can be easily managed with such jobs.
Normally the summer jobs may not pay you high but there are some jobs which also offer fair pay for the candidates. The pay structure depends upon the nature and type of the job. Normally summer jobs are paid according to the time basis or by the content basis. Many sectors fix their pay by the performance basis also
The Experience
Experiences do matter a lot in the career path of people. Now every industry asks for the valid experienceand seems like that not many employers are ready to take risk by going with the fresher. The summer jobs give you such invaluable experience that once you out of the campus you have a degree along with particular period of experience. Your resume will come more attractive to the future employer. This will provide an advantage for you over the many others in the same job market.
The experience doesn’t mean that you should be in the same sector. Here the experience stands for you have knowledge about the work life and its demands. There is an expectation from the employer that you wont show any odd face when the demands come. This is the valid experience for you from the summer jobs.
How to Find the Job?
Like, they say no job will come to you unless you proved yourself to the world. If you want a best summer job, you have to go out and search for that. Before searching for a job you have to clear yourself that what kind of job you are looking for? You may suit for a job which offers the work time flexibility. You have to attend the college or you may have some other commitments, so you need a job which is not so demanding about the time schedule.
There may be students who are looking for the summer jobs in a particular industry, an industry they probably want to have a career. There is also a category, for them the only concern is the pay structure. What ever your requirements are, you have to search for those. If you don’t find the best one for you first, you can take the first one and then search for the best one.
As a College student you may think why I should spend my vacation on doing some jobs? It is my study time so you nay have fun. But taking such jobs never stops you from having fun, instead it will boost up your Enjoyment by supporting your expense and you can have more and more fun with out giving any explanations. Also, you are supported something for your future too, by adding such experience with you. So as we say, don’t waste your time “Just Do it…”
