No doubt, Astronomy deals with the study of every aspect of the heavenly bodies. So the course accommodates within itself the motions of the heavenly bodies, the law which decides these motions, the nature, physical condition and the constitutions of these heavenly bodies,  their dimensions, forms, surface features and the masses of theirs,. The aspect of the course is not yet bounded as it also deals with the possible history of many heavenly bodies and the aspects of their development in the future.

Eligibility:

The candidates interested in pursuing the course, must have completed M. Sc in Electronics, Physics, Applied Mathematics and Astronomy. There are also provisions for the students with B.E, B. Tech, M. Tech or M.E degree, to pursue for the course. However, the admission criterion is based on a written test followed by an interview.

Course Outlook:

The course calls for a duration of three years. During these three years, the students are provided with researches and project works.

The scopes for the candidates with a PhD degree in Astronomy are many. There are places for such candidates as research scientist in diversified research institutes and government organizations; in many different research oriented programmes grades. The candidates can also be employed in the universities. There are the industries too in which the candidates can be placed in various jobs.
