Land Surveyor - How to become a Land Surveyor?
Land surveying is the method of estimating the terrestrial positions like angles, distance and multi dimensional points of a piece of land. The survey is mainly conducted as to make an estimate about land for making maps and governmental purposes. Also a survey helps to draw the boundaries for acquiring land. An individual who carries out these surveys are known as a Surveyor. There are many job opportunities available for qualified land surveyors. Companies like Himgiri Construction, ARSS Infrastructure Projects Ltd, LEA Associates South Asia Pvt. Ltd, India bulls Real Estate Limited and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries India Private Ltd employ professionals of land survey. Candidates who have completed their course have an initial salary of Rs.1, 75,000-2, 50,000. The remuneration of the candidates will differ according to the nature of the job and location of the company.
Qualifying Exam
The basic qualification required for candidates to become surveyors is a pass in B.Tech Civil Engineering. The entrance exams for civil engineering are given below:

Who is eligible to apply?
The candidates who are applying for this course must be residents of India. They must be atleast 17 years when they apply for the exam.
How to prepare for exam and interview?
Candidates who are appearing for the written exam should be well prepared. They can read articles on the subject or gather information from the internet. Question papers of the earlier years are also available from bookstores. The students can practice on this. They can also get training for the exam by going to coaching classes. It is also possible for the students to consult former students. At the time of the interview, the candidates must respond to the questions in an honest manner.
