IGNOU is one of the largest distance education Universities in India; the University offers a large no. of courses to its students. The courses are helpful for those students who are unable to continue their study from a regular college. Master in rural development increases the awareness among people.

Paper Pattern:

The subject of Rural development is an interesting paper and contains questions of very long answer type pattern, all questions asked are of descriptive type. Total questions asked are 5 and each question has its alternative.  Question no. 1 & 2 are to be answered in 800 words, whereas 3rd question has 2 sub-questions to solved, each in 400 words. The 4th one has 4 sub-questions and each is to be solved in 200 words. Last question contains 5 short notes and each are to be answered in 100 words.

The paper contains questions of descriptive pattern, the subject is very vast and questions are repeated from previous year’s paper. Questions asked are such as micro-finance, functions of Rashtriya Mahila Kosh, different components of Minimum Needs Programme, components of watershed development, Strategy of TRYSEM, Target Beneficiaries of SGSY, ]joint Forest Management, Agro-forestry, Rural Electrification, Main features of IRDP, Restructuring of the PDS, National Family Benefit Scheme, Status of sanitation in rural areas etc.

Total marks and time allotted:

A student can score a highest of 100 marks in the paper and time allotted for the paper is 3 hours only. The marks are same in each question but marks are divided into sub-questions of different marks in each question. The paper contains all questions in different word limits.
