IGNOU is one of the biggest chains of open schooling and it is providing education to those who are unable to attend college regularly. The diploma or graduation in the area of rural development is very important in the country like India as most of the population is living in villages.

Paper Pattern:

The paper of rural development Planning and Management is a non-technical paper and all questions in this paper are subjective one. There are 5 questions in the paper and each question is with its own alternative. Each question is of equal marks and further divided into sub questions of different marks. 1st two questions are to be answered in 800 words, 3rd question in 400 words and 2 sub questions are there, 4th question in 200 words and there are 4 sub questions and last question in 100 words and 5 sub questions are there.

The paper contains questions of long answer type such as short notes on Merits and Demerits of Decentralised Planning, Components of District planning, Functions of ManagementDetailed Project Report,Need for Planning, Planning Commission, Tribal Plan, Administration and Management, project identification, voluntary organisation, monitoring of a development project,Concurrent and Terminal Evaluation, VOs and NGOs etc. Questions are of different pattern and every question has its different word limits.

Total marks and time allotted:

A student can get a maximum of 100 marks in this paper and time for solving the paper is 3 hours only. The questions are of equal marks and apart from 1st 2 questions, each question is divided into sub-questions of different marks.
