AIIMS Medical PG Entrance Exam Pattern
All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) is an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament. The most important function of AIIMS is to provide opportunities for training teachers for various medical colleges across the country. Another aim of the institution is to bring together all important branches of health activity so as to provide educational facilities of highest order. The institute adopts one of the best educational principles and practices best suited to the needs of the nation. This institute conducts medical PG entrance to admit students for various post graduate courses. The post graduate exams are conducted for admissions in MD, MS, M.Ch (6 year course), and MDS.
Eligibility for AIIMS Medical PG Exam
The candidate must complete MBBS degree from a recognized university for MD/ MS. Those who have completed M.Ch (6 year course) can also apply for the test. The possession of BDS degree is mandatory for the candidates appearing for MDS courses. The candidates must have completed 12 months of compulsory internship or Practical training. It is necessary to obtain a minimum of 55% marks in all MBBS/BDS examinations. It is important that the candidates show consistency.
Syllabus for AIIMS Medical PG Exam
The entrance test for MD/MS, M.Ch(6 year) covers all the subjects taught at MBBS level. The syllabus for entrance test for MDS covers all the subjects at BDS level.
Method of Selection
The entrance test for MD/MS consists of 200 multiple choice questions to be completed in 3 hours. Every wrong answer has 1/3 negative marking. The choice of the subject for PG course is allocated on the basis of personal counseling. The various subjects for different MD/MS are listed below.
