How to prepare for M.Tech Entrance Exams?

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is organized by IIT’s and IISC. These institutes are the pioneers in the field of technical education in India. The main purpose of the GATE is not only to organize a common test for admission but this test is also used to identify the skilled engineers and researchers in the various streams.

Structure of the M.Tech Entrance Exams

The GATE examination comprises of only one paper which is of 3 hours duration. It contains 60 questions. The paper carries a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper consists of only objective type multiple choice questions. The candidate will be provided with four alternate options. They have to mark the right answer on the Optical Response Sheet by darkening the bubble against a particular question. There are negative markings for wrong answers.

If the candidate takes some cautions while studying for GATE, it can be made easier as preparing for the college examinations. The students have to focus on the core subjects. Presence of mind is an important factor that is needed for the preparation of such competitive examinations. Always try to follow the standard books that are available in the markets to prepare for the examinations. Prepare key notes while you study as it helps the candidate to memorize the portions very easily. When you are studying a topic ask yourself some questions such as “What” and “How”. Keep in mind that the GATE questions are of objective type. Therefore the candidates can expect tricky questions.
