B.Arch courses are offered at many reputed colleges in India. For getting admission to this course, the students have to qualify in the entrance exam conducted by the concerned authority. General guidelines for preparing for B.Arch Entrance Exam

The students should have a genuine interest towards the subject. The students who wish to pursue B.Arch must have the drawing skill and an imaginative mind. Sometimes the entrance exam may include questions related to architecture. The students must have the ability to recognize international and national buildings of prominence. In order to answer these types of questions, the students are required to have a clear idea on the topics related to architecture. A few reference books which can be useful for these students are Verbal & Non Verbal Reasoning Book by R.S. Aggarwal, Architecture Entrance Book by P.K. Mishra, B Arch Exam Guide by PK Mishra etc.

B.Arch Entrance Exams Pattern

JEE and AIEEE organize a common entrance exam for both the architecture and engineering courses. The entrance test includes only questions of objective type. The exam pattern includes questions from Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. Besides these, there will be a drawing and aptitude test for architecture candidates. The NATA exam is of 3 hours duration and is divided into two stages. They are Aesthetic Sensitivity test and Drawing test. The Aesthetic Sensitivity test is a one hour online test. This test is conducted to identify the analytical and visualizing skills of an applicant at the objects provided. The drawing test is a two-hour exam held for evaluating the drawing skills.

Setting up a good study plan for B.Arch Entrance Exam

The students who have applied for the entrance exam must create an efficient time table first. The plan should include the complete syllabus for the entrance exam. For better preparation, the entire portions should be divided into smaller units. They can also undergo practice test using the previous year question papers. This will help them to acquire time management skill. The students must read the newspapers like Times of India, The Hindu, etc or other English news papers in order to improve their vocabulary. The students can also think of joining good coaching institutes like Oasis Education Services, T.I.M.E, Career Launcher India Ltd, Excellence, etc. if they need expert help.
