Indian Statistical Institute is a renowned institute which came into existence in the year 1931 by Professor Prasnta Chandra Mahalanobis. The institute has been awarded with the status of being an Institution of National Importance under an act of the Indian Parliament in 1959. Mr. Bimal Kumar Roy is the Director of the institute. The institute is comprises of an academic staff of 255 personnel and Admin. staff of thousand persons. There are approximately four hundred students pursuing their graduation, undergraduation or doctoral degree courses in the institute. The headquarter of the institute is located in Baranagar. The delhi centre of the institute was founded in the year 1974.

Job Profile:

Applications are invited from eligible and qualified candidates for filling up the vacant positions of Electrician, Electrical Attendant, Manager (Guest House/ Hostels), Driver and Multitasking staff in Indian Statistical Institute purely on contractual basis. Candidates will be selected or recruited for a period of one year only. However, the tenure may be extended depending on the need of the institute and performance of candidates. Only eligible Indian Nationals are invited to apply for the following posts:

1. Recruitment of Electrician:
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to have passed minimum Higher Secondary i.e. 10+2 or equivalent qualification with ITI certificate from a recognized board or university. Candidates are required to possess minimum 2 years experience in the relevant field.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 14000 per month.

2. Recruitment of Electrical Attendant:
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to have passed minimum 10th standard or equivalent qualification with ITI certificate in relevant trade of electrician from a recognized board or university. Candidates are required to possess minimum 2 years experience in the relevant field.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 11000 per month.

3. Recruitment of Manager (Guest House/ Hostel):
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to have passed minimum Higher Secondary i.e. 10+2 or equivalent qualification with Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management from a recognized board or university. Candidates are required to possess minimum 1 year experience in the relevant field.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 24000 per month.

4. Recruitment of Driver:
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to have passed minimum 10th standard or equivalent qualification with knowledge of driving of all types of vehicles from a recognized board or university. Candidates are required to possess a valid driving license of both light and heavy vehicles.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 12000 per month.

5. Recruitment of Multi Tasking Staff:
Educational Qualification: Candidates are required to have passed minimum 10th standard or equivalent qualification from a recognized board or university. Candidates are required to have experience in the area of housekeeping.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 10000 per month.

Eligibility:

Candidates are required to have age within the prescribed age limit for being eligible for applying for any of the above specified positions. Candidates must have age below than 40 years as on 1 January 2012 or else he/she will be considered uneligible for the post.
