Syllabus for UGC NET (Computer Science) Exam

University Grant Commission conducts National Eligibility Test for assessing eligibility for lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship. The test is conducted twice a year, normally in the months of June and December. There will be two question papers, Paper 2 and Paper3. There will be 50 multiple choice objective type questions in Paper 2. Maximum marks awarded for this section is 100. Paper 3 consists of descriptive type questions. Candidates will have to attempt 10 short essay type questions, each carrying 16 marks. Besides, candidates are required to answer one elective question in 800 words for a maximum mark of 40.   Detailed syllabus of the exam is provided below.

Paper 3 contains questions from Combinational Circuit Designs, Instruction formats, database Concepts, Programming Language, Analog and Digital Transmission etc. This part is considered as the core paper of the exam. It contains descriptive type questions from the given electives.
