Post diploma in Electrical Engineering
Electrical Engineering is a very demanding course of study as the modern lifestyle is completely dependant on the electrical energy and electrical instruments. Eligibility
A candidate is eligible for post diploma in electrical engineering if he or she is a graduate or diploma holder in the corresponding discipline with a minimum of 50% marks from any recognized university. There is no age limit.
Course Outlook
Post diploma in electrical engineering is a 2 year course offered in various polytechnic colleges of India. The syllabus is split into semesters, examination being taken every December and June. In this course duration students are evaluated on the basis of practical examination as well as theoretical examination held every six months. Marks are given on basis of Continuous Formative Assessment and End Semester Examination. The course focuses on subjects like electrical machines, power electronics and instruments.
Job Prospects
There are lucrative job prospect available for an electrical engineer with post diploma degree. They are appointed in Power plants for installation, up gradation and maintenance of the instruments, in railways and shipping sector and in commodity goods sector where they can apply their available practical to complete the job. They are generally well paid and offered better positions in the industries.
