Botany is a sub division of Biology that is concerned with the scientific study of plant life. Those who have studied the various courses in Botany can turn out to be Botanists. These professionals are actually plant scientists who conduct research activities to study the structure, growth, food accumulation and reproduction modes of different plants and algae. They also study plant life and the interaction of plants with the milieu. To become a Botanist, aspirants have to pursue the post graduation in Botany, Biology or related fields. The eligibility criterion to apply for the Masters’ course is a Bachelors’ degree in Botany, Biology or related fields. Candidates should have done the course from an acknowledged University. They should clear a PG entrance test also in order to get admission for the postgraduate programs. Those who have completed post graduation in the relevant fields can pursue the M Phil or PhD programs in Botany.
