The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Civil Services Examination every year. Through this examination aspirants get the posts of IAS, IPS etc. Civil Services Examination is considered one of the toughest in India. Every year lakhs of students appear for the test but only a few can get through it. The exam has two parts. The first part is preliminary exam, clearing which the students become eligible for the second part which is the main examination. Among the subjects, which a student can choose from is Medical Science. The pattern of the exam is given below.

The exam of Medical Science is objective type consisting of 120 multiple choice type questions. The duration of the paper is two hours and carries maximum marks of 300. All the questions are of equal marks. There are four options given with each question with a single correct answer. The correct answer is to be marked on the separate answer sheet. For each wrong answer 1/3rd of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted. Multiple answers will also be treated as wrong answer and the same penalty will be levied for that. Questions left unanswered will not attract any penalty.
