Admission to the Doctoral Programs in Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University is done on the basis of Common Entrance Test, conducted by the University. Post Graduation in relevant subject with 55 % marks is the educational qualification required. Syllabus of the entrance test will be similar to that of UGC NET/ JRF exams.

Eligibility Criterion for RMLAU Ph.D Common Entrance Test

Candidates who have completed Post Graduation in respective subjects are eligible to appear for this exam. They are required to secure at least 55 % marks in aggregate in the qualifying master’s degree. Aspirants belonging to reserved categories as well as who are physically challenged can avail 5 % marks relaxation as per the norms of the University. Those who are in final year of study, awaiting results can also apply for this exam. Such candidates will have to submit their final year exam result at the time of admission.

Exam Pattern of RMLAU Ph.D Common Entrance Test

The exam comprises of two papers. Candidates can expect multiple choice objective type questions. Paper 1 will contain 100 questions. Time allotted to answer these questions is 2 hours. Each question carries one mark. There will be questions to evaluate candidates’ research aptitude and general awareness. Paper 2 will contain 200 objective type questions. Questions will be asked to measure candidates’ subject knowledge. Total marks allotted for this section is 200. Candidates will be provided a maximum of 3 hours to answer all these questions.

Candidates are required to obtain a minimum of 40 % marks in each paper and 50 % in aggregate so as to qualify the entrance exam. Those who are belonging to reserved categories can have relaxation in qualifying marks as per the norms of the University. Such candidates can enjoy 5 % relaxation in minimum qualifying marks.

Application Procedure for RMLAU Ph.D Common Entrance Test

Eligible candidates are required to apply for the entrance test in prescribed application form. Application form can be obtained from the main branches of State Bank of India or through main Post Offices across the country. For this, candidate should make a cash payment of Rs. 800/-. Candidates belonging to reserved categories are required to pay Rs. 400/- only. Fully filled in application form should be sent to the address of “The Registrar, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Faizabad-224001, U.P’. Applications must reach the University within stipulated time. Late and incomplete applications will be rejected.
