Forest Research Institute stands as a pioneer institute offering education in areas of forestry and environment studies. The institution is approved as a deemed University by UG C. Forest Research Institute Ph.d in Life Science Entrance exam is carried out for the selection of candidates in to the doctoral level program in Life Science.

Structure of Forest Research Institute Ph.d in Life Science Entrance Exam

The exam is carried out in two sections (Section A and Section B). The first section is common for all subjects at Ph.d level. The section includes questions on English language, GK and research aptitude Research Aptitude includes questions based on statistics and reasoning.  The second section is based on subject related questions. The total number of questions for the entrance test is 200. There will be 80 questions in section A and 120 questions in section B. The total time allotted for completing the entrance test is 3 hours.

Eligibility Criteria

Those who possess master’s degree in any of the areas of Life Science can apply for the entrance exam. The qualification must be obtained from a recognized educational institution with at least 55% marks. The candidate should possess minimum 50% marks to pass this admission test. 5% reduction in marks is offered for SC/ST candidates.

How to Apply?

The Ph.d course in Life Science is offered through the University campus and its research centers. Those candidates, who would like to pursue the course in research centers, should apply for the same through the center itself. The application for pursuing the course through research centers must be forwarded through the Nodal Officers of the respective centers. The fee for attending the entrance test is Rs. 1000/-. This must be paid in the form of DD taken in favor of Registrar, FRI Deemed University, Dehradun.

How to fill the Form?

  • Understand the instructions given in the brochure before filling the form
  • Furnish the columns in application form with exact details
  • Post the filled up application in such a way that it may reach the destination before closing date
  • Write the name of the candidate on the back of the Demand Draft
  • Take the photocopy of the application and keep the same for future reference
