you are eligible for software jobs if you have some basic languages like c,c++,java,tally etc if you know about this means you can enter into software job

of course you can apply for software job..
but be careful that you have some basic knowledge about software subjects like C,C++,Java,.net,data structure,SQL etc. so that you can compete with others coming from software background.

Yes ofcourse u can apply but if ur wish was to be a software engineer u took the wrong track. Still by doing some professional courses related to the computer and IT u may get a suitable job as an Software engineer.

If you are from a good college you can get through on campus interviews.

Some companies like Infosys,TCS etc., don't consider branch at all.They consider if you have application skills or not thats all.

there is a very little scope for an mechanical engineer in software industry.

that too if you are certified in languages or operating systems.
Do certificate courses form any computer firm and you may get a job on that basis in a software industry.

well it sector has job for every skilled person and also owing to computerisation of every work ... u can think of nice scope of mechanical engg in it sector.
U must have heard of CAD modelling, reverse engg. these work are combination of mechanical engg and computer engg. Get urself updated about these software ..then u may head for R&D or for a good job.

Yes off course, Mechanical engineering students can work in IT industries. Its not necessary that you have to have good knowledge on software. There are seperate branches where Mech. students can work. Eg, Infosys recruit many Mech. students.

If you have knowledge about such languages & having interest in software field then you should apply for it, other wise i suggest you to do MBA then you will get more job prospects. Otherwise you can join any company related to your mechanical skills.

During the campus placement, software companies select only CSE, IT and ECE engineers. But you can apply off-campus in IT companies. But for getting a job you will have to study programming languages like C, C++, C#, Java, .net, SQL from a coaching centre. You should have excellent communication skills and no backlogs.

Yes , Mechanical department are eligible for software company.

But you are eligible for On campus . In off campus some company can't consider any non IT departments.

The eligible companies are TCS , CTS , WIPRO ,INFOSYS ,IBM etc.

Yes you can get job in IT sector after mechanical engg but keep it in mind that work environment will be different and you should have a sound knowledge of computer like c++, java,c , foxpro. So brush up your knowledge very well. All the best.

No ,you cant apply for Engineering at all if you are from a pure medical student .
I mean If your main subjects in 10+2 were PCB with English ,Hindi/IP then you are not eligible for Engineering Entrance Exam .
If you had Mathematics too in your 10+2 then you are eligible for Engineering Entrance Exam
Other than this you sshould have minimum 50% marks in Mathematics and 60% in PCM together .
You can Apperar for Various Engineering Exams like AIEEE , IIT-JEE and many other state level Entrance Exams .

i am a mechanical engg, doing job in a automobile company. But i am not enjoying my job or its just not satisfactory to me. As i am having deep interest in computers and i understand languages easily. Can i aply for IT sector. I want to do something big in IT industry. But the problem is that, WILL MY MECHANICAL DEGREE CAUSE ANY PROBLEM IN FUTURE IN SOFTWARE INDUSTRY ? as i dont hold any computer degree

but you need to have some patience to get good job with good salary .

1) written aptitude (read rs agarwal aptitude and reasoning books)

you can take up a job related to programming or
software based analysis like

Matlab
CFD- computational fluid dynamics
CNC programming

you have to do same job with the other those are recruited for the same post irrespective of the stream. but do not worry they will first train you how to do the job

Also all engineering disciplines' curriculums have subjects related to IT industry so you must be aware of that as well. Software companies are quite open to hiring engineers from any discipline depending on their potential. One thing you should keep in mind while applying for software jobs is the requirement of the job. Brush up your skills in the area the software company deals with before the interview. Also making few simple projects in a S/W language you are comfortable with maybe beneficial.
